Marketing and sales assistant

Practical information

This role is part-time (25 hours/week) and includes flexible working. 

The payment will be National Minimum Wage (age-appropriate).

The contract is for 6 months (12th April - 12th October 2021).

This is a remote role. If you do not have access to a laptop we can provide that for the duration of the contract.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, open-minded person to join our small team. The role will involve:

Social media management, including developing sources of inspiration and content.

Content production (taking and producing photos, drawings and other images).

Development of pitch deck and other marketing materials.

Measuring our marketing effectiveness (e.g. number of subscribers, interaction with blog posts etc).

Organising and supporting user research calls.

Funding applications/other fundraising initiatives.


This is not an exhaustive list and the job may entail other responsibilities depending on the applicant’s skills, experience and interests.

Essential skills

Good written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Positive attitude and willingness to learn


Self-motivation (ability to work well & efficiently unsupervised)

Knowledge of Google Drive & applications (e.g. Google Docs, Slides)

Desirable skills

Previous experience or knowledge in marketing & communications (social media campaign tracking useful).

Fundraising experience (personal or professional).

Familiar with social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

Training opportunities include (but are not limited to) employability support, basic finance skills (for a small business), marketing & comms, 1:1 coaching & professional development, and CV support.
